CHAPTER 2
Dear
reader, by the time you read this I will be properly be dead. When we were ordered to go
in the bunkers I said Russia wouldn’t dare bomb us. I was wrong. I have spent
20 years in a hole I dug beneath my house. Yes, I evaded the bombs but not the
radiation and nether had my friends or family, who I persuaded to stay with me
now all of them have turned into flesh-eating madmen. It’s only me now. I am
starving here but worse of all I know they will be back. Bye world.
There was blood stains on the pages but no
body. Suddenly, I realized the danger I
was in. I turned around to leave. “naaaaar” I heard someone scream and then I
realized who was screaming. A zombie like creature jumped from behind the sofa.
Two more came up from under the table. Then I remembered that the bunker controller
had given me a weapon, a hand held pistol. Wasting no time, I drew it from my
pocket and fired it at one. He fell down but I knew he wasn’t dead. How could
you kill someone who is already dead?
They were closing in. My pistol only had five
bullets left. Realizing I was trapped I shot the window, shattering all the
glass. I then jumped though. I ran for my life. The first thing that popped
into my mind was that I should head for the edge of town. So that is what I
did. Once I had reached my target, I thought about what to do now. They were
surrounding the entrance of the bunker. I couldn’t go back. And what were they.
Mutated people were my best guess. Suddenly, I realized that this town wasn’t
going to be the only place with mutated people in. I was alone. My only hope
was to find another bunker. But the closest one to here was one hundred miles
away and in London. That place was sure to have some of those aliens in. Least,
I thought, I have a week’s supply of food. But that means I only have a week to
get to London on foot before I stave
